Places to explore in CornwallEngland · South West England

A long granite peninsula between two seas, Cornwall ends where Britain does, at Land's End. The spine of granite surfaces as the high ground of Bodmin Moor and as the wild heaths of The Lizard, the most southerly point, where rare serpentine rock breaks the pattern. Centuries of tin and copper mining left engine houses along the cliffs, now traced by the South West Coast Path past Bedruthan Steps and the tidal island of St Michael's Mount. Arthurian legend clings to Tintagel Castle on the north coast.
