Fire gutted the house in 1881, and the Agar-Robartes family rebuilt it as a model late-Victorian country home, wired and plumbed with every convenience of the day. That’s what you tour now: the vast kitchens, the servants’ quarters, the long gallery that survived the flames. Outside are formal parterres, a gatehouse of 1651 and estate woods above the Fowey. National Trust. Bodmin Parkway station is under 2km away.
