A wooded valley south of Penzance runs down to Lamorna, a small cove where granite was once quarried and shipped from the little pier. Painters of the Newlyn school worked here in the early 1900s, and it drew writers too. Open access, with a car park by the cove and the coast path running above. It’s a few miles round the shore from Mousehole.
