Long Rock is an official bathing spot in Cornwall with a sandy shore. Its water quality was classed Excellent at the Environment Agency's last classification. Water quality here can dip after heavy rain. It is one of 90 designated bathing waters in the county.

Marazion and Wherry Town are among the bathing waters within 3.5 km. Penzance Station is 2 km away to the west.
