One of Cornwall’s oldest inns, the Sloop is said to date to around 1312, though the present granite building went up a few centuries later. It stands right on the harbourfront in St Ives, with only a cobbled forecourt between it and the sea, and was a favourite of the town’s Victorian painters. St Ives station is a few minutes’ walk up the hill.
