The only headland in England to be called a cape is a small green point near St Just, topped by an old mine chimney. The Heinz company gave it to the National Trust in 1987. Two tides are said to meet below it, and the water is rarely still. Open access, with a car park at the foot of the lane; Penzance station is about 13km east.
