Bowgie is the Cornish word for a cowshed, which is roughly what this clifftop pub on the West Pentire headland started out as. It looks out over Crantock beach and the Gannel estuary, with a big terrace and beer garden making the most of the view. Open all day, and Newquay, with its station, is about 4km east round the coast.
