Reckoned to be the oldest garden in Cornwall, laid out by the Enys family, who have held the ground since the 13th century. The reason most people come is Parc Lye, a six-acre meadow that turns solid blue with wild bluebells for a couple of weeks in late April and May. The rest is gentle, faded, half-wild parkland run by a trust. It’s north-east of Penryn; opening is limited, so check ahead.
