Waterside church in a subtropical creek garden.
Come for the churchyard as much as the church: at St Just in Roseland a subtropical garden of palms, gunnera and flowering shrubs tumbles down the hillside to a tidal creek, with the 13th-century church at the bottom by the water. Planted up in Victorian times, it’s at its best in spring. Open access. St Mawes is a short way round the Roseland peninsula; Falmouth’s stations sit across the water.
