Looe is really two towns — East and West Looe — joined by a bridge across the river mouth, with a busy fishing quay on one side and a sandy beach on the other. Shark-fishing boats and day trips still run from the harbour. It sits at the end of its own scenic branch line, and Looe station is a few minutes from the quay. Polperro is a short way west along the coast.
