Port Isaac is where Doc Martin was filmed, its harbour and huddled white cottages standing in for the fictional Portwenn across many series. It’s a working fishing village all the same, with narrow lanes — one nicknamed Squeezy Belly Alley — dropping to the quay. The shanty group Fisherman’s Friends are local too, and their story was filmed here. It’s a fair way from any station; most people arrive by road.
