Open-air theatre carved into the cliffs.
Rowena Cade built the Minack by hand into the cliff above Porthcurno, shaping seats and stage from granite and concrete with the help of two gardeners. The first play, The Tempest, was staged in 1932, and she kept working on the site for the rest of her life. It’s an open-air theatre still in use through the summer, with a garden and café; paid entry, and steep steps throughout. Pedn Vounder beach lies just below.
