Mevagissey packs a maze of pastel cottages and narrow lanes around a double harbour — an inner basin and an outer one built to shelter the fishing fleet. Boats still land crab and lobster, and small ferries run to Fowey in summer. The Lost Gardens of Heligan lie a couple of miles inland. St Austell station is about 8km to the north.
