The Shipwright Arms is a thatched 18th-century pub on the wooded bank of the Helford River at Helford. You can reach it by narrow lane, moor to its pontoon by boat, or in summer take the seasonal foot ferry across from Helford Passage (April to October). Frenchman’s Creek, of du Maurier’s novel, branches off the river just upstream.
