Places to explore in WorcestershireEngland · West Midlands

The Severn and the Avon water Worcestershire, winding through red-sandstone farmland and the orchards of the Vale of Evesham. Along the western edge the Malvern Hills lift a spine of some of England's oldest rock, crowned by the Iron Age ramparts of British Camp. To the south the isolated Bredon Hill stands off from the Cotswolds. Worcester Cathedral rises above the river in the city where the last battle of the Civil War was fought in 1651, and an earlier clash ended at Evesham. Capability Brown's first great landscape survives at Croome Court.
