St Mary’s church at Ripple is unusually big for so small a village, and holds a rare set of sixteen fifteenth-century misericords carved with the labours of the months, from sowing corn to killing the pig. The village around it is a green-centred place near the Severn, just south of Upton-upon-Severn, and worth a stop for the carvings alone.
