Bredon spreads below Bredon Hill on the flat of the Avon vale, its church spire a landmark across the fields. The village’s set piece is the great tithe barn — 14th-century, aisled, nine bays of oak on stone plinths — now looked after by the National Trust. Fire gutted it in 1979, but it was rebuilt to match and is open to visitors.
