Spetchley Park

Spetchley has belonged to the Berkeley family since the early 1600s, and successive generations have packed its thirty acres with rare plants, trees and shrubs — one of the largest private collections in the country. The gardener’s touch that shows most is the Willmott sisters’, who filled the borders around 1900; the peonies gathered then, some from Ellen Willmott’s plant-hunters, still put on a show through May and June. East of Worcester, open with a charge; Worcestershire Parkway station is about 3km south.
