The statutory record calls this “Pershore Abbey (site of)”, which is only half true: the nave and cloister went after the Dissolution, but the townspeople bought the choir and tower and they have been the parish church of Holy Cross ever since. The result is a building that reads as all tower and east end. Pershore sits between it and the Avon, and Bredon Hill fills the view south.
