Morton Hall is a plantsman’s garden laid out as a series of rooms on an escarpment near Holberrow Green, with herbaceous borders, a potager, a woodland rockery and a Japanese stroll garden. Its big set-piece is the spring Tulip Festival over the early May bank holiday, when the beds and pots go up in a hundred-plus varieties. Otherwise it opens only on scattered days through the year, so check before setting off; there’s an admission charge. Evesham station is the nearest, a few kilometres south.
