Tardebigge Locks
Local highlightApproximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
Thirty locks in a little over two miles make Tardebigge the longest lock flight in England, lifting the Worcester & Birmingham Canal some 67 metres up the hillside. The top lock is unusually deep, a relic of an early experiment with a boat lift on the same spot. The towpath is open access and free to walk, and following the whole flight uphill is a steady, satisfying climb. Bromsgrove station is about 3km to the west.
