Avoncroft is an open-air museum near Bromsgrove where buildings saved from demolition have been dismantled and rebuilt on one site, so you can walk between a working post mill, a timber-framed merchant’s house, a chain-making workshop and a national collection of old telephone boxes. Open in season with an admission charge; allow a few hours to see it. Bromsgrove station is under 2km away to the north-east.
