Known as ‘the town in the orchard’, Tenbury Wells sits among the fruit and hop country of the Teme valley, and still holds a mistletoe auction each winter. Its oddest building is the Pump Rooms of 1862, an early prefabricated spa house in a Chinese-Gothic style by James Cranston. The flower-hung Fountain Inn is a timber pub in the centre. Ludlow is the nearest station, about 11km to the north-west.
