Capability Brown’s last complete landscape wraps Berrington Hall, a red sandstone mansion built in the 1770s for Thomas Harley to a design by Henry Holland. Brown laid out the park and its fourteen-acre lake; Holland’s plain exterior hides a set of ornate neo-classical rooms. The National Trust has run the place, gardens and all, since 1957. Leominster station is about 4km to the south. House and garden are ticketed and open across most of the week year-round.
