Come for lunch by the River Lugg: the Riverside at Aymestrey is a 16th-century former coaching inn that grows much of its own veg in a kitchen garden and cooks hearty local food. There are rooms too, and the Iron Age ramparts of Croft Ambrey rise in the woods above. Leominster station is about 10km to the south-east.
