Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
The Clent Hills are a patch of wooded, heathy high ground on the edge of Birmingham, looked after by the National Trust. A topograph on the summit points out the Cotswolds, the Malverns and the hills of Wales, and a line of standing stones near the top turns out to be an 18th-century folly rather than anything ancient. Open access and free, though there’s a charge to park. Hagley station is about 4km to the west.
