Behind a plain exterior, St Michael and All Angels holds what many rate the finest baroque interior in England. The painted ceiling is by the Venetian Antonio Bellucci, and the ten enamelled glass windows were made by Joshua Price around 1720 — both bought second-hand when the Duke of Chandos’s palace at Canons was demolished, and installed here by the Foley family in the 1740s. It stands right beside the ruins of Witley Court in Great Witley, and entry is free.
Full name: Great Witley Church (St Michael and All Angels)
