Places to explore in FifeScotland · Central Scotland

A peninsula between the firths of Forth and Tay, Fife has kept its old identity as a kingdom apart. Its southern spine rises to the twin volcanic tops of the Lomond Hills, West Lomond the higher, while the whole coast is walked by the Fife Coastal Path. The East Neuk strings together some of Scotland's prettiest fishing harbours at Crail and Anstruther, with the puffin colonies of the Isle of May offshore. St Andrews crowns the north-east, home of golf and a ruined cathedral, and the National Trust keeps the old burgh of Culross and the royal palace at Falkland.
