St Monans has one of the prettier little harbours on the East Neuk, with a distinctive zig-zag breakwater and a genuinely charming welly-boot garden — old wellingtons planted up with flowers — down on the slipway. It’s still a working harbour, with a handful of boats. The St Monans church sits just west along the shore, almost in the sea.
