Elie is where Scottish Seaside Saunas began, with a converted horse trailer lined in aspen parked on the harbour dunes in June 2022. It has since been joined by the Harbourmaster, a bigger communal sauna built from Scottish larch, poplar and ash, with large windows facing the sunset across Elie Bay. You walk straight onto the beach for a sea dip, and there are cold showers for days when you’d rather stay out of the water.
