If you fancy a bit of adventure, the Elie Chain Walk is a scramble around the cliffs west of Elie, hauling yourself along fixed chains bolted into the rock between Shell Bay and West Bay. It’s only passable at low tide and turns genuinely tricky when the rock is wet, so check the tide times, wear boots with grip, and don’t rush it. Leven station is about 9km to the west.
