A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Fife. It is the only motte-and-bailey castle the Albion Guide maps in the county. The site is in the care of Historic Environment Scotland.
The nearest railway station, Dunfermline Town, is under a kilometre away. Rosyth Castle and Blackness Castle are among the castles within 7.4 km.
