Sir Robert Lorimer designed both the house and the terraced gardens at Hill of Tarvit, an Edwardian mansion just south of Cupar. The formal lawns, clipped yews and rose borders step down the hillside below the house, with woodland and a hilltop walk above. It’s run by the National Trust for Scotland with an admission charge. Cupar station is a couple of kilometres to the north.
