Just outside St Andrews on the Strathtyrum estate, Balgove Larder gathers a farm shop, butchery and café into a set of converted farm buildings, with a rustic steak barn firing up in the evenings and a Christmas tree operation come December. It’s a good stop for local meat, cheese and veg, or a leisurely lunch. Leuchars station is about 5km to the north-west.
