Kingsbarns Distillery occupies a converted farm steading at East Newhall Farm, a few miles south-east of St Andrews, and makes a Lowland single malt along with Darnley’s gin. It’s open seven days a week for guided tours that walk you through the process and finish with a tasting, and there’s a café and shop if you’re just after a coffee. Leuchars is the nearest station, around 18km to the north-west.
