Crail’s little harbour, built into the rocks at the east end of the East Neuk, is about as painted and photographed as anywhere on the Fife coast. The pantiled cottages and creel-stacked quay date the scene to the 16th century, and it’s still a working harbour, with crab and lobster landed through the season. Down on the quay, The Lobster Hut sells fresh crab rolls in summer.
