Crail’s little harbour, ringed by crow-stepped and pantiled houses, is probably the most painted and photographed corner of the East Neuk. A royal burgh since 1178, it’s the most easterly of the fishing villages, with steep wynds dropping down to the water. The Golf Hotel on the High Street is one of its longest-standing inns.
