Places to explore near Betws-y-Coed

Set where the Llugwy and Lledr join the Conwy deep in Eryri, Betws-y-Coed became a Victorian resort once the railway and Telford's cast-iron Waterloo Bridge brought visitors to its wooded gorges. The Gwydyr Forest wraps the village in oak and conifer. Water is everywhere. Swallow Falls tumbles above the town, and Conwy Falls and the mossy ravine of Fairy Glen lie just downstream. The high ground is close too — the shapely cone of Moel Siabod and, beyond it, Tryfan and the Glyderau.

Betws-y-Coed sits inside the Eryri National Park. 106 places within 25 km — the standouts first, nearest first within each group. 10 are national icons.
