Glyder Fach reaches 994 metres along the Glyderau ridge, its summit a chaos of shattered rock. The Cantilever Stone — a great slab jutting out over thin air — is a favourite for a nervous photograph, and the spiky crest of Castell y Gwynt, the Castle of the Winds, rises just to the west. It’s serious mountain ground, reached on foot from Ogwen or the Llanberis Pass, with Cwm Idwal making a natural way up.
