Victorian painters made Betws-y-Coed an artists’ colony, drawn by the rivers and woods where the Conwy, Llugwy and Lledr meet. It has long been the main way into Eryri, with the Ugly House and the Fairy Glen close by. The station is on the Conwy Valley line.
