Tŷ Hyll, the Ugly House, is a squat cottage built of rough boulders beside the A5 near Capel Curig, its name earned by the crude stonework. The Snowdonia Society now runs it, with a tearoom on the ground floor and a wildlife garden and woodland behind. Small admission for the garden; Pont-y-Pant station is about 4km to the south.
