St Grwst’s at Llanrwst was built in the late fifteenth century and keeps one of the finest carved rood screens in Wales. The adjoining Gwydir Chapel, added by the local Wynn family, holds a stone coffin said to be that of Llywelyn the Great, brought here after his abbey at Conwy was moved upriver. Gwydir Castle and its gardens are just across the river. Open to visitors.
