A Roman fort once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Conwy. The Albion Guide lists three Roman forts in the county; this is one of them. The surrounding countryside is part of Eryri National Park. For arrivals by rail, Pont-y-Pant Station is 3.7 km to the south.
