The second-highest summit in Wales, a rocky high point on the Snowdon horseshoe just north of Yr Wyddfa
Open accesson open access land, where the right to roam applies
Plenty of people walking the Snowdon Horseshoe cross Crib y Ddysgl without quite registering it, because the bigger name next door, Yr Wyddfa, is only 800 metres further on. At 1,065m it is the second-highest summit in Wales, also known as Garnedd Ugain, a rocky crest on the high ridge that curves above Glaslyn. Many reach it along the exposed scramble over Crib Goch, others more gently up the Pyg or Miners’ tracks and along the ridge from the col. It sits within Eryri (Snowdonia), and the ground near the trig pillar is easy to misjudge in cloud. On a clear day the drop to the lakes below is one of the finest positions in the range.
