Just below the top of Foel Grach sits a small stone mountain refuge, a rough shelter that has helped more than one walker caught out by weather up here. The hill reaches 975m in the northern Carneddau, the big rolling range in the north of Eryri (Snowdonia), and it is usually crossed on a big round taking in Carnedd Llewelyn just to the south. The ground on top is grassy and broad, with few landmarks, so it is easy to lose your line in mist. The Cambrian Way long-distance path runs over the summit.
