Places to explore in CeredigionWales · Mid Wales
Ceredigion faces the sea along the great curve of Cardigan Bay, where bottlenose dolphins are a common sight offshore. Behind the coast the land climbs quickly into the Cambrian Mountains, empty sheepwalk rising towards the headwaters of the Wye and Severn. The shore is lined with harbour towns, Georgian Aberaeron and the fishing village of New Quay among them, while Aberystwyth holds the middle of the coast as university town and seaside resort in one. Inland, the Mynach tumbles through a wooded ravine at Mynach Falls, the raised bog of Cors Caron spreads across the Teifi valley, and the Cistercians left their ruins at Strata Florida.
