Llyn Llygad Rheidol lies in a rocky hollow on the north face of Pumlumon, highest of the Cambrian Mountains, and feeds the young River Rheidol. It sits in a natural glacial cirque, now dammed as a small reservoir, and is reached only on foot across open moorland. A remote, quiet objective for hill-walkers heading up onto the plateau; there’s no clear path, so it suits confident navigators in good weather.
