Three bridges stand stacked one above the other over the wooded gorge of the Afon Mynach at Devil’s Bridge, built centuries apart as each was outgrown. Below them the Mynach falls through a run of cataracts, reached by a ticketed footpath and steps. The village is also the inland terminus of the Vale of Rheidol Railway, a steam line that has run up from Aberystwyth since 1902.
