Bwlch Nant yr Arian is a forestry visitor centre in the hills east of Aberystwyth, best known for its afternoon red kite feed: dozens of birds wheel in over the lake when the food goes out. Waymarked walking and mountain-bike trails run out from the centre into the Cambrian foothills, and there’s a cafe and paid parking. Bow Street station is about 10km west.
