Cwmtydu is a small shingle-and-sand cove tucked into the cliffs south of New Quay, once a landing spot for smugglers and lime boats. There’s an old limekiln by the shore and a little car park at the valley bottom. Seals sometimes pup on the rocks in autumn, and the coast path climbs steeply out in both directions along the bay.
